DUBLIN CASTLE 8th June, 1916. Madam With reference to your letter of the 23rd ultimo,
applying for permission to remove the remains of your
husband from one grave to another in the burial ground
attached to the Protestant Church at Midleton, Co.Cork,
I am directed by the lords justice to request that you will
be so good at to furnish the consents in writing of the
authority in whom the burial ground is vested and of the
Sanitary Authority of the district to the removal of the
remains. I am,

This is a letter from Sir Edward O'Farrell (1857-1926), assistant under-secretary for Ireland, to Margaret O'Brien. The writer refers to Mrs. O'Brien's application for permission to move her deceased husband's remains from one grave to another within the Protestant church graveyard in Midleton and instructs her to furnish written consent from the church authorities and the District Sanitary Authority, in this case, Midleton Urban District Council.
