last few days how everything is
at home & how Leo is getting
on, it is really too bad you
should have all this extra
worry & it always seems to come
in the Holidays— I do hope
Leo is better and all the others
What about Jack is he alright
again, I have been asking about
glands here & they say the
sometimes come from having
adenoids or large tonsils, do you 2 think Jack has either of these
complaints, he really does not look
strong. Have you been able to
decide what you think best for
him to do. I also hope by this
you will have had some more
good news of Tommy— I suppose
there is no chance of him getting
home for a bit. I am really keeping A.1 except
for a slight stiff shoulder today
I nave nothing to complain about
I am looking A.1 & my wards
are really quite light now so
get off my schedule time & have
not the same responsibility
which is a great relief, there
are only just the two of us 3 but the work is not too much
as so many are able to be
up. Really it is very interesting
work, as our M O has made a
special study of Gas poisoning
& he treats them with great
care, it is a rather troublesome
way & take a good deal of time—
When they have been up for a
short time he sends them on
a trial walk & then we take a
record of their pulse every min
ute after for about 15 mins & then
he judges if they can walk
down to the Beach once & so on
till at last they can do a long
walk without effecting their
pulses— 4 I have had no more news of
Gerald G. since— but hope all is
well with him. Is there any news
of Eveleen. What splendid news
of Charlie O'Kelly I am so delight—
ed & as as glad it has all worked
out well for him, I must try &
write to him one of these days—
Bernard has not done it yet?
Tell me honestly how are you feeling
these times yourself, I am
longing for your next letter, I
was delighted to get your
card the day before yesterday
to hear Leo is better. I hope
Violet is enjoying herself &
looks better after it & how are 5 my darlings Desmond & Andrew
I hope none of the others will
get it— it does seem hard
luck in their holidays always
to be cut off from every one
We have had a most terrible
wet day here to—day & such
a thunder storm, it is beastly
in the tents & so wet & nasty
for the men. I must say good night—
