blank as to anything doing
and, I suppose, you will
soon get a sight of Dorothy
who crossed by on
Friday night, en route for
the Garretts' as Hilda had
been in contact with Measles
and she thought it better
to take Andrews first, in
case of complications. Ruth came yesterday, but
may have to join Marjorie
tomorrow as Sam & Iva go and
Charlie is at Aldershot. 2 She is lunching with Dora today.
I saw poor old Mrs Riddel
on Monday. a perfect wreck.
So much worse. than on the
day of the funeral. I really
could not leave them if I
were Marjorie. I think she
has made no plans yet, but
may, after she has seen Charlie.
He is wanted over. for some
arrangements. Aunt Margaret
has left him the big car and
I suppose there are other things.
However, these is no need to
move anything at present. Poor Mrs Leviney had an
operation yesterday for a
tumour and appendicitis.
I am anxious to hear about
her. Such an unfortunate time.
We have had Mrs Garrett
Campbell and Mrs Poliyard
and reveal much letters.
A very nice one from Mayor
Boylan Smith. I am glad you had your day
at Eastbourne. Olive would be
glad to see you. My bureau has arrived. It is not
an "antique" as I had fancied
but is quite nice. We have
put the sofa into the hollow
of the piano, at Smyth's suggestion
and. I think it is a great
improvement. I am glad the verses arrived
safely. I will pay for them
the next time I am that
way. They were to fund
out postage. I sent you a
currant loaf, but, in future 3 I think a postal order to buy
one will be better, the postage
mounts up beyond its worth.
Shall I send some more soup
and what is the best? Yesterday. I did a little "forking
up" in the garden. but today
it is raining again. Old Mrs "P" Davidson is dead
and was quite queer for
some time before. I have heard
nothing of Willie Ewing, but
must go and see Minnie
this week, now that she is
alone. Aunt Charlotte is still in
Craig's hands about her ears
and Ruth still complains
of "ringing" while my ears
are much the same alas! Why do complaints seem to 4 DUNOWEN,
BELFAST. come in batches? Peter is very good. except when
he goes fautee. He keeps me
very nervous about the kittens
One of them is a darling. Elsie Kingan's engagement
is announced and Captain
Dane is now a Brigadier General!
I had tea with Mrs Lindan
on Sunday; we are very great
now. I hear Effie is at
Hoylalne with a Miss Rogers
and a nurse and writing
quite cheerfully. I believe Ben
is much better also and
that they like Carneoure.
I have paid no country 5 visits yet, but must soon,
if the weather improves. No letter from Emma or Jerry
this week. I suppose she is
staying on. I hear Emmie
Eggan is likely to go to the
Hills, it is thought too dangerous
to return. Colonel Buchanan
brought his wife and little
girl here last Sunday. She
was a Miss Harland and is
still very nice looking. She
looks much younger than he
