D2109/9/4/C Dearest Mamma This is just a line to give
you the good news which I
have just got tonight that I
am to go on leave next week. I leave here on Friday
or Saturday - If Friday
I should be home on Sunday
the 9thbut if I leave on Satur-
day I probably won't be able
to cross till Monday 10th to 39 2 D2109/9/4/C Ireland. Anyhow
I will find out in London
when I arrive and let
you know. If stranded
in London I will get a
chance of seeing Celia— I will be glad of the change
as you can imagine for I
have been thronged lately! Tomorrow we move our
entire Bde. Hd. Qrs - Today I have had 40 3 D2109/9/4/C to find complete new billets
and could find no place
for the Staff but an empty
house without a stick of
furniture or means of cooking
tomorrows meals. I have
been on my knees to the R.E.
and have persuaded them
to stick up a stove of
sorts and have also tasked
the Divl. Interpreter to
try and find some 41 4 D2109/9/4/C chairs & tables. In a
day or two we may settle
down again! - Tonight at
11.20pm I am still wading
through paper in the office! Had a line and some
cigarettes from Emma and
have written back to let
her know I am alive &
well. Nothing else new to
relate meanwhile - Thanks 42 5 D2109/9/4/C for letters from yourself
Edmond, Ruth & Dorothy Best love and hope
to see you all soon. Ever Your own Terry 31/12/15
