Sir, I am directed by the Lord Lieutenant to acquaint you that His Excellency
has been pleased to appoint you to be temporary Presbyterian chaplain
at and for Dundalk Prison deleted text. You will put yourself in communication as soon as possible with the
General Prisons Board, Dublin Castle, and will take from it instructions as to
the commencement of your duties. You will receive pay from the date of your actually beginning duty in
the Prison and you will hold office
by the tenure stated in the 28th Section of The General Prisons (Ireland)
Act, 1877. I am,
