Letter from Róise Ní Dómnaill to Charlie Daly [January 1923]
1
P41/24/2 Ballybofey, Thursday A cara Thanks for your letter
which I rec’d when on hols. I got
back here about a week ago or
more. I didn’t enjoy my holiday
by any means . Xmas passed very
quietly. If it weren’t for the bad
weather we couldn’t realize it
was that important time of
the year at all. Do you know
Rogers? I think you do. She
wishes to be remembered to yourself
and Ginger. She was home
for a few weeks there hearing a
brother in law of hers dead. 2 How are you off for cigs? I would
send over some but I’m only writing
this on chance as I don’t know
whether you have been removed
or not: I heard most of the
boys were taken to 7 wier yesterday
I hope you get the daily paper all
right. All around Dungloe
are well and many of them send
their kindest regards. Remember me
to all the boys. Do cara
Roise Ni Domhnaill 3 Chars. Daly Esq.,
Drumboe Castle,
Stranorlar.
