26 May 1916 My Dear Patrick I was delighted
to hire you were well and that
you have written home to my Mother
I had a nice letter on Friday
from home and they are all
pleased they heard from
you but as you know they
are very lonely without you
as it is the first time in
your life you have ever
being away even one night
from Home and you being
the only 2
To depend on but however
God Is good thusup Please God
I hope you will be soon Going
back home. Have you any news yet from home I am
sending you these Stamps
and some wrighting Paper
so as you won't be short
and I will send you a
Parcle next week and
one of the sisters here is
sent those things for you
must keep them and
Always Pray for her her

This letter is from a collection Patrick English (1894-1970), who at the time of writing was a prisoner in Stafford Prison and Frongoch internment camp. The letter is to English from Mary. The author states that they are delighted to hear Patrick is well, but goes on to state that his family are very lonely without him. The author also states that she has sent paper and stamps for him to write, also noting that one of the sisters in the convent has sent him items and for this Patrick must pray for her.
