Letter from W. H. Grattan Flood to Bishop E. T. O'Dwyer, 15 September 1916
ENNISCORTHY 15 Sept. 1916. My dear Lord Bishop, Will you permit me to
offer you my heartiest congratulations
on the splendid reply you delivered
to the Limerick Congregation on
receiving the freedom of the city.
It was worthy of an Irish Bishop
of the olden time - one it completely
coincides with my own views on the
present deplorable situation.
Pray accept accompanying copy
of my recently published History.
of the Diocese of Ferns as a small
expression of my admiration for
Your Lordship's outspoken utterances Yours faithfully W. H. Grattan Flood
Mus. D., K. S. G.
