who reported the rumour to me
is the very Rev. Canon Timlin
PP Skreen Co. Sligo I need hardly say that
there never was the slightest
foundation for the story. I shall be thankful if you
will kindly let me know the
result of your enquiry I remain, my dear Bishop

about him and answers Maher's question to confirm that it was Canon Timlin, PP, Skreen,
Sligo who reported the rumour to him. He goes on to confirm that there was never
any truth in same and concludes by stating that he would be grateful if Fr Maher let
him know the result of his enquires to identify the source of the rumour
