prison library. They are available first
for the use of your husband and then for

Desmond FitzGerald (1888-1947), was an Irish Volunteer and was present in the G.P.O. during the Rising. He was subsequently arrested, court-martialed and sentenced to 20 years Penal Servitude, later commuted to 10 years. Mabel FitzGerald (1884-1957), was the wife of Desmond FitzGerald. The letter was written while Desmond FitzGerald was a prisoner in Dartmoor. The Governor acknowledges the books sent. They are now in the prison library for the use of her husband and, after him, the other Irish prisoners.
