Co Donegal 23.4.'23 Dear Mrs Daly Every so many
thanks for your letter.
We all know too well that
your dear son died a noble
death as he was such a great
favourite with everybody. I
was told that his guardsmen
in Drumboe shed tears when
poor young Daly was been
led out. As he was spoken
of as a true Patriot of Ireland
Poor boy he is gone to enjoy
the reward of a well spent life

It is the dear mother, father,
brothers and sisters tha he
has left behind to mourn
but trust you will be resigned
go God's Holy Will + you will all
be united in Heaven where
so sorrow will be no more. I
would be so thankful for
his photo + his last letter
that we may ever treasure
We have had masses said
for the four brave boys +
we never orget them in
our prayers although they do
not want them. When my daughter was at
home from Dublin for Easter
she told me your dear daughter
was ill + she had not heard

the sad news. She felt so much
for her. Miss O'Donnell + Miss Blake
are in Buncrana still + my
niece M O'Flaherty is home
from Mountjoy although she is not able
to stop at home as they live
on the border. As soon as you find it
convenient we will be waiting
on our dear friend's photo
for Memoriam Cards. And again
accepting our sincerest sympathy Yours very sincerely,
Mrs. MacFeely
