the enclosed resolution: It was passed unanimously at
our June meeting held in the
Orange Hall Bangor, Co Down,

Resolution:— "The members of L.O.L. No.677 assembled in
"Lodge at Bangor, Co. Down, Ireland, express their
"deep grief and heartfelt regret at the tragedy
"which as robbed His Majesty the King and his
"Empire of the distinguished solider and leader,
"Field Marshall the Right Honourable H.H. Earl
"Kitchener of Khartoum, K.G., K.P., G.C.B., O.M., G.C.S.I.,
"G.C.M.G., G.C.I.E., Secretary of State for War. They
"express their humble sympathy with His Majesty in the
"loss which he has sustained. At the same time they
"are very grateful for the noble work done by the late
"Earl for the Empire, and the splendid example of
"duty and service which he has left for his fellow
"subjects."

John Reginald McDonald (1885-1967) was a chaplain working in Co. Down. He would later
serve as the Archdeacon of Connor, (1946-64).
