priests have got knocked
out of action by sickness
so I must ordain. W.
Ryan. 4thDivine and
I hope you will let him
be ready to be ordained
here on Sunday
30th april — next 2 Sunday week - & let
me know if you please
if that will be all
right.
I am sorry to hear
the accounting which reach
me about Fr. Valen?
Donovan's health are
of the more
alarming character
His heart and liver are in
a bad way and his whole
body dropsica I and
the doctors in
attendance are rather
despondent about
his care,

Letter from Bishop Michael Fogarty (1859-1955) to John Francis Hogan (1858-1918). Michael Fogarty was born in Kilcolman, County Cork in 1859. He was ordained in 1885 and in 1904 became Bishop of Killaloe, holding this office until his death in 1955. John Francis Hogan, born in County Clare, was a priest, author and President of St Patrick's College, Maynooth. Fogarty is writing to Hogan in connection with W.Ryan's ordination.
