This letter was addressed to Rev Dr John Francis Hogan (1858–1918), a priest, author, and president of St Patrick's College, Maynooth.The letter was sent by Rev Robert J. Burts of the Catholic Diocese of Cork (1871-1957). In this letter Robert Burts is informing John Hogan of the faculties for the Cork Students which have been signed by order of Rev Dr Thomas Alphonsus O'Callaghan (1886-1916), bishop of Cork. These faculties are to lie in the discretion of John Hogan.
