Captain Davidson was serving with the Machine Gun Corps when he was killed in action in France on 1 July 1916. During the First World War the Sirocco Engineering Works manufactured and exported equipment for cooling, drying, dust collecting, heating, ventilating, pneumatic conveyance for the Royal and Merchant Navy. Sir Reginald H Brade (1864-1933) was the secretary of the War Office throughout the First World War.
