24-9-16 Dear Mother I'm still in very much
the same place. These are a few photographs
I took ages & ages I only found them
in a box of winter kit I opened
yesterday so as to get out my
heaviest clothing. We have not
struck snow yet but its getting
on in that direction. At times it
is quite & warm like today
at other times it is blowing &
wet as it can be with bitter
cold. You might send me out a
cap badge write t Phillips Dame
St, Dublin for it, most of the Belfast
people have another one which fades
the last one I got in Belfast has gone
a dirty yellow instead of being
2
green & the harp is a rotten tarnished
grey. There is no news what I can tell
you & in any case there is nothing
to write about. The two books
Margaret sent me, A Tall Ship &
Naval Occasions, are excelent things
& it is quite a relief getting things
worth reading altho it is a awful
waste sending them out here as they
can not be carried about in
25lbs of kit very easily. I have had no mail now
for ages & ages love t all
Jimmy
