Letter from the Archbishop of Tuam, John Healy, 8 April 1916

Sir John R O'Connell for
several years and I have
found him to be an
able and accomplished
gentleman eminently
fit to succeed Sir Tce. Kelly

Archbishop of Tuam.

This letter was written by the Archbishop of Tuam, John Healy (1841-1918). Healy occupied the position from 1903 until his death in 1918. In the letter Healy mentions that he has been acquainted with John Robert O'Connell (1868-1943), a solicitor, for many years and that he found him to be able and accomplished. Healy hopes that O'Connell will be successful in his candidature for the position of chief crown solicitor.
