Midleston Urban District. Madam, I am directed by the Local Government Board for
Ireland to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of
the 26th ultimo, and, in reply I am to state that if,
as would appear to be the case, the remains of your
late husband are interred in a Burial Ground not proâ
vided under the Public Health Acts, you should address
your application for the disinterment of the remains to
His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant. I am,

Letter from Joseph Devlin to Margaret O'Brien regarding the incorrect internment of
Margaret's husband's remains. According to Devlin the remains are on grounds not provided
for by the Public Health Act and for that reason the application should be made to
Lord Lieutenant, Ivor Guest (1873-1939).
