4, Broad Street,<lb/>Oxford Jan.12 (1922) My dear Russell Do not forget that you are to give me for the Cuala<lb/>press what portions you have ready, or what selections you wish<lb/>to make from it? The press is now ready but my sister would prefer<lb/>to print first a little paper covered edition of nine or ten poems<lb/>of mine. These however will not take her long, I would prefer that<lb/>you came next, there have been too many Yeats books. Are you ready.<lb/>If you are I will have it out with her. The increased price makes<lb/>their books rather profitable to the author -- my Four Years in her<lb/>edition has brought in £54. It is really an extra so does not inter-<lb/>fere with the ordinary edition. I wonder how you feel about the new Irish Government,<lb/>I am by constitution a pessimist & never thought they would get<lb/>as much out of Lloyd George & so am pleased, nor am I distressed<lb/>to see Madam Markieviez and other emotional ladies among the non<lb/>jurers. I am to lecture in Paris at the new Government's exhibition<lb/>there. I expect to see Griffith, now that he is the universal target,<lb/>grow almost mellow, and become the fanatic of broad-mindedness and<lb/>accuracy of statement. Hitherto he has fired at the <sic>cocanuts</sic> but<lb/>now that he is a <sic>cocanut</sic> himself he may become <sic>milkey</sic> Yrs. W.B.Yeats
