A postcard from Louis Moran (O'Modhráin) to his brother Edward (1881-1954). Louis writes of his surprising arrival back in Dublin following his release from Wakefield, his plans to travel home (the Curragh, Co. Kildare) and that he hopes Eamonn will be included in the next draft of released prisoners. Both O'Modhráin brothers, Louis & Eamonn (Edward), were taken into custody soon after the 1916 Rising and transported to prisons in England. By June 1916, Louis had been released and was writing to his brother, still held captive in Wakefield Prison. After his release, Eamonn would go on to command the 6th Battalion of the Carlow Brigade during the Irish War of Independence.
