This letter was addressed to Diarmid Coffey (1888-1964) from his mother Jane Coffey (née l'Estrange) (1857-1921). The letter refers to a planned trip to London. The trip is a welcome replacement for a journey to Wales, however, Jane feels that England is an unpleasant place for an 'Irish Irelander' right now.Diarmid Coffey was born on 24 December 1888 in Dublin. He was a public servant and an author. He was called to the bar in 1912 and later joined the Irish Volunteers as secretary to Col. Cotter. He died in 1964.
