             GWYNFRYN,<lb/>CRICCIETH,<lb/>N. WALES   July 17. /16   My dearest Tweety,   Much love, &amp; many<lb/>congratulations, to you &amp;<lb/>dear old Gerald, for this<lb/>Golden Day! It does seem<lb/>many years, since that very<lb/>hot day, 50 years ago, when<lb/>the golden knot was tied,<lb/>&amp; the slight cord and then, has

             <lb/>now became a rope, which will<lb/>go on thickening, for love<lb/>can <hi rend="underline">never</hi> die! —     I've four remaining sisters<lb/>send you a small offering<lb/>which I hope you will like<lb/>I wish it could have been<lb/>solid gold — but the time<lb/>gold   be in the love<lb/>&amp; good wishes of us all. —<lb/>It is nice to think of you all<lb/>together, in London, on the Day.<lb/>Don't think of writing to me<lb/>for a long, long time, no <seg type="unclear">girl</seg><lb/>will have such lots to do &amp;<lb/>so many letters to write. —   A letter from Katie this day<lb/>tells me how much she<lb/>enjoyed Edie's visit, but also<lb/>gives Esther a good accord<lb/>of your Helen.—

             I am so glad that Gerald <lb/>is able to attend the House <lb/>&amp; try &amp; stay evil &amp; help on <lb/>the good. But what can <lb/>happen? All must wait if <lb/>possible till the war is <lb/>over &amp; the continued good <lb/>news makes me hopeful of <lb/>a collapse in Germany, as <lb/>well as Austria. —   Yr loving    <hi rend="underline">Lilly.</hi>
