This is a letter from Private F Murphy to an unknown recipient. In the letter Murphy pleads with the recipient to get his children back, although it is not fully clear where the children are one can assume that that had been put in a home while Murphy was off fighting because the family had little money. Murphy describes how he and his wife wish to have them back now that he is home and he asks for the recipients help in the matter.
