This letter was written by Sir Edward O'Farrell (c.1857-1926), the Assistant Under Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Sir Ivor Guest Churchill, Lord Wimborne. The recipient was Mrs. Mary Anne Curley. In this letter O'Farrell informs Mrs. Curley that her children are not detained in Industrial schools and that the Lord Justices cannot interfere with the Rathdown Guardians and their exercise of power.
