The letter is from Honoria Sweetman (b. 1908) to her mother Agnes (b. 1871).

Agnes was the wife of John Sweetman (1884 - 1936), a member of Sinn Féin and patron to Arthur Griffith. In 1915 Sweetman spoke out against conscription and was arrested after the 1916 Rising and interned in England until the end of May 1916.

In this letter Honoria describes the warm weather in Dublin and mentions that she is about to go to pick some flowers for "Holy Mary's Altar".
