             5.7.16   Dear Kitty   I am sorry I cannot give you <lb/>more information, but I do know that the <lb/>Ulster division has not suffered so much as <lb/>two other divisions which were reported as <lb/>badly cut up — From <hi rend="underline">first hand</hi> information <lb/>the man who gave it me being actually on <lb/>the spot on the H.Q Staff, I can tell you <lb/>that General Nugent has won very high <lb/>praise for the magnificent way he handled <lb/>his division which did splendidly — They did <lb/>all that was wanted of them &amp; went further <lb/>than they needed. And it was owing to the <lb/>care &amp; judgement of your husband they did

            so well.   You will be glad to hear all the Chiefs <lb/>are <hi rend="underline">very</hi> satisfied with the state of affairs, <lb/>and everything is most promising.   I find it difficult to get away, but <lb/>if I can, I shall be delighted to <lb/>come &amp; see you one afternoon if I may. <lb/>Please don't bother to answer this.
