Letter from Clair Moran to her brother Eamonn who was one of the many Irish imprisoned during or soon after the Easter 1916 Rising. The letter is addressed to Wakefield Prison although Eamonn was also imprisoned in Frongoch Prison in Wales.

 30.5.16 My dear Eamonn, We posted today a parcel each for you & Louie. Hope they will reach you safely without delay. The letters take at least a week to come from England. Louie mentioned he got a letter from Maire, that seems to be the only one that reached you. Although we wrote almost every day. but I suppose there are so many to be delivered some of them get lost. We had another letter from Maire today. She got your letter on Friday. We were home on Sunday and found all well. Mother is managing wonderfully well. Louie's letter was a great relief to her. He mentioned you were alright as regards clothes. You must be a great toff in your old hat. Una asked a chap who was going over to see her brother, to see you but he did not succeed. I must write a line to Louie now.
