Letter from Deborah Webb, member of the IWFL and a nationalist, to Hanna Sheehy Skeffington requesting six copies of the Irish Citizen. Hanna Sheehy Skeffington (1877-1946), suffragette, nationalist, language teacher, was the founder of the Irish Women’s Franchise League and a founding member of the Irish Women Workers’ Union. She was the widow of Francis Sheehy-Skeffington who was summarily executed on 26 April 1916. She was active during the Rising, bringing food to the Volunteers in the G.P.O. and the College of Surgeons. Four days passed before she found out what had happened to her husband, Francis (1878-1916), and it wasn't until almost two weeks later that the full details of his execution emerged.

Would enclosed lines be suitable, in next week's? If they are printed I sd. want 12 copies more — and sd be glad to get them early, if possible on Thursday. Wd. pay later. Also I wd. pay postage for a proof copy. I wd. collect & return promptly, But cd it be posted early? As I have to retire for the night about six. I hate to trouble you — you have so much to think of. J. C. shall see late issues — & will appreciate. She sends you warm greeting. Of course I shall send Mr. Harlem the bills in Mass on his birthday. Please don't print unless you approve.
