Typescript letter expressing RCPI's wish that a a Midwives Bill for Ireland be promoted in Parliament as it was for Scotland. To further this they have appointed Sir William Smyly, Sir Andrew Horne and Dr. Hastings Tweedy to work with the Medical Commissioner to in promoting the Bill.

Dear Sir, The President and Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland are anxious that a Midwives Bill for Ireland should be promoted in Parliament. The present time, when such a bill has just been passed for Scotland, appears to offer a suitable opportunity for attaining this desirable end. The President and Fellows have appointed Sir William Smyly, Sir Andrew Horne, and Dr. Hastings Tweedy as a deputation to wait on youbto discuss the provisions of the proposed bill and to enquire whether the Local Government Board for Ireland would undertake to promote it. I shall be much obliged if you will inform me if you will receive this deputation and if you will fix a date for hearing the gentlemen named. I remain, Dear Sir, Yours faithfully, Fellow & Registrar.
