             3rd JUNE 16.   The Medical Commissioner, <lb/>Local Government Board, <lb/>Dublin.   Dear Sir,   The President and Fellows of the Royal College of <lb/>Physicians of Ireland are anxious that a Midwives Bill for <lb/>Ireland should be promoted in Parliament. The present time, <lb/>when such a bill has just been passed for Scotland, appears <lb/>to offer a suitable opportunity for attaining this desirable <lb/>end. The President and Fellows have appointed Sir William <lb/>Smyly, Sir Andrew Horne, and Dr. Hastings Tweedy as a deputation <lb/>to wait on you<seg type="del">b</seg>to discuss the provisions of the proposed bill <lb/>and to enquire whether the Local Government Board for Ireland <lb/>would undertake to promote it. I shall be much obliged if you <lb/>will inform me if you will receive this deputation and if you <lb/>will fix a date for hearing the gentlemen named.
