In this letter from Bridget Dudley Edwards to Hanna Sheehy Skeffington, Bridget expresses her condolences regarding the death of Hanna's husband Francis. Bridget communicates her horror at Hanna not having attended the burial or seeing the body, judging that it is a very cruel and un-christian way to go about things.
