Letter from the resident librarian at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) to Thomas Laffan (1842-1918) regarding a loan of books previously requested by Laffan. The librarian informs Laffan that books cannot be borrowed from a distance of further than 12 miles from the college but will send along extracts instead if the is convenient. Aside from his work within the medical profession, Dr Thomas Laffan also had a strong interest in politics. Throughout his life he was a frequent contributor to the Irish Press.
