This is a letter from Rev Dr John M. Harty (1867-1946), archbishop of Cashel and Emly, to Rev Dr John Francis Hogan (1858–1918), a priest, author, and president of St Patrick's College, Maynooth. Harty writes to apologise for the trouble caused by a student who went to Maynooth before he had secured the relevant qualifications.
