A letter from Alfred Beckett to Nicholas Lamb enclosing a list of cases provided by the commissioner of valuations that need reviewed by the Longford Urban District Council. Alfred Beckett (b. 1864) was a civil servant who served as Chief Clerk in the General Valuation Office of Ireland. Nicholas Lamb (b. 1861) was the Town Clerk of Longford and served on the Longford Urban District Council. The Longford Urban District Council was the towns local authority and was renamed the Longford Town Council in 2002.
