Alfred Beckett (b. 1864) was a civil servant who served as Chief Clerk in the General Valuation Office of Ireland.
Nicholas Lamb (b. 1861) was the Town Clerk of Longford and served on the Longford Urban District Council. The Longford Urban District Council was the towns local authority and was renamed the Longford Town Council in 2002.</p>

             General Valuation of Ireland<lb/>6 Ely Place Dublin   Sir   I am directed by the Commissioner of<lb/>Valuation to enclose a list of cases requiring<lb/>revision which have been furnished direct to him or<lb/>have otherwise come under the notice of this Department,<lb/>and to request that should your Council consider<lb/>such revisions necessary you will include the<lb/>cases in the lists which you are to forward here<lb/>by the end of the present month in accordance<lb/>with the provisions of the Valuation Acts.  You
