This is a letter addressed to Rev Dr John Francis Hogan (1858–1918) from Bishop Charles MacHugh of Derry (1856-1926). John Francis Hogan was born in Clare in 1858 and was an author, priest and President of St. Patrick's College Maynooth. Charles MacHugh was born in Derry in 1856 and became Bishop of Derry in 1907, a post he held until his death in 1926. MacHugh is writing to Hogan in connection with the ordination of students in St Patrick's College, Maynooth.

Each database record has been converted to a JSON file (https://github.com/letters1916static/letters-data/tree/main/json). The element section of the JSON file contains the TEI-encoded contents of the letters.
