Barlas was the secretary for the Local Government Board. In this  Garry is apologizing on behalf of one of his insane work house inmates who has been sending unwanted mail to the king and members of the Royal family. </p>

             WorkHouse <lb/>Killadysert,   19th April, 1916.   To <lb/>The Secretary, <lb/>Local Government board, <lb/>Ireland   Sir,   In reply to your letter dated 18th April 1916, <lb/>No.18.276 : 1916 I beg to state that since Mr D'Alton, <lb/>Local Government inspector instructed me re Patrick <lb/>Hastings an insane inmate of this Workhouse, I have <lb/>been taking every precaution to prevent this man <lb/>writing and posting letters to His Majesty, The King, or <lb/>the members of the Royal Family, and I sincerely regret <lb/>any annoyance caused His Majesty in the matter.   I am ,Sir, Yours Faithfully,   M. Garry,  <lb/>Master.
