This letter was addressed to Sir John Robert O'Connell (1868-1943), a solicitor who was applying for the position of chief crown solicitor. In the letter O'Connell is thanked for enclosing references from Cardinal Michael Logue (1840-1924), Archbishop of Armagh, and John Harty(1867-1946) , Archbishop of Cashel, in reference to his application for the chief crown solicitor position.
