This is a letter from John Clear (1858-?), a labourer from Killkenny, Augustine Birrell (1850-1933) the Chief Secretary for Ireland. The letter call for an end to the theft of letters by a list of people name. He claims cheques have been taken and cashed in Berlin. He goes on to state Sergeant Benson knows about this and that there is £80,000 of his in a bank in Ohio, believing the named men are keeping it from him.
