Dear Sir, I am writing to ask that my name may be added to the Membership list of the Royal College of Physicians Dublin and herewith enclose the certificates it is necessary for me to forward including one as to professional and moral character from Dr F. I hereby declare that I am not engaged in trade; that I do not dispense medicine or make any engagement with a chemist or any other person for the supply of medicines and that I do not practice Medicine or Surgery in partnership by deed or otherwise. Every Candidate, before being enrolled a Mem— ber of the College, shall subscribe the following Declaration in the presence of the President and Fellows :— 'I do hereby solemnly and sincerely promise that I will observe and obey the Statutes, ;By—Laws, and Regula— tions of this College, relating to Members, and will submit to such penalties as may be lawfully imposed for any neglect or infringement of them. 'I further promise and declare that I will, to the best of my ability, do all things in the practice of my Profession for the homour of the College and the gooad of the Public. 'I hereby authorise the President and Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland to erase my name from the List of Members, and I consent to surrender the Diploma received from the College, if I shall, after having obtained the Membership, engage in trade, or if I shall dispense Medicine, or make any engagement with a Chemist or other person for the supply of Medicines, or if I shall practise Medicine or Surgery in partnership, by deed or otherwise.' Henry Heyward Declared at Folkes lane in the county of Kent this 10th day of August 1916 Before me GantrillA Commissioner for Oaths. Each Paper shall be set, and the answers thereto be examined, conjointly, by two Examiners. Each Paper shall consist of six questions. There shall be Three hours given for answering each Paper — three hours in the forenoon, and three in the afternoon, of the first day's Examination. 2. The Clinical Examination shall be conducted in one of the Metropolitan Clinical Hospitals in the forenoon of the second day, the Candidates being informed of the Hospital a short time before the hour of Examination. This portion of the Exami— nation shall be conducted by two Examiners other than those who set the Papers. 3. The Oral Examinations shall be conducted, in the afternoon of the second day, by the four Exami— ners who set the Papers; the subjects of Examina— tion to be the same as those dealt with in the Paper Examination; it shall also include the investiga— tion of morbid specimens; the qualitative analysis of animal products; the detection of poisons; and the use of the microscope. XXII. Candidates who have successfully passed the Examination for the Membership will be required to attend at the College on the Friday following, to subscribe the Declaration in the presence of the College, and to sign the Roll of Members. XXIII. If the Examiners be not satisfied with the answering of a Candidate, the College may admit him to re—examination at the next quarterly Examination.
