                Longford.    30<hi rend="superscript">th</hi><hi rend="underline">March</hi>1916   Gentlemen.   We the undersigned workmen of the <lb/>Urban Council beg to apply to you for an increase <lb/>to our weekly wages â  We need not speak of the increased cost of <lb/>living but as this is our last appeal we <lb/>trust that you will deal generously by us <seg type="closer">  Signed James Toole <lb/>Pat<hi rend="superscript">k</hi> Dunne <lb/>John Shea <lb/>John Hughes <lb/>Fred Dunnigan </seg><seg type="postscript"> It was unanimously agreed to give an <lb/>increase of 2/6 â  This makes the wages ÃÂ£1. per week for for <lb/>Toole, Hughes, Dunne and Dunnigan and <lb/>22/6 for Shea. </seg>
