Prime Minister   Sir,   I am a candidate for the vacant Clerkship of the <lb/>Crown &amp; Peace for country Westmeath. I practised as <lb/>a Solicitor in that County and also Longford for past <lb/>twelve years. As the appointment rests with the <lb/>Lord Lieutenant who I understand has resigned, <lb/>I put in my application for the position to you. <lb/>I beg to refer you to Mr John P. Hayden. M.P. <lb/>Mullingar Co. Westmeath. for reference. I have <lb/>the honour to remain <seg type="closer"> Sir <lb/>your obedient servant  Patrick. J. Mallon </seg> I ask &amp; state that <lb/>an appointment has been <lb/>made.
