Letter from solicitor Patrick Joseph Mallon (1881-1974) to Herbert Henry Asquith (1852-1928) regarding the vacant clerkship of the Crown and Peace for Westmeath. Mallon is applying to Asquith as the position of lord lieutenant was temporarily vacant in the aftermath of the Easter Rising. Herbert Henry Asquith (1852-1928) was Liberal Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1908 to 1916.
