 23rd June, 1916 Dear Sir, With reference to your letters of the 14th and 22nd instant, I beg to inform you that from enquiries which I have made, I find that Daniel McCarthy was arrested under martial law at Dunmanway on the 13th ultimo. He was sent on to Cork, thence to Dublin and after a few days to Knutsford, England, where he has been up to the present. His family have been in communication with him all the time and were never at a loss to know his address. Yours truly, (Sd) S.M.P F.
