                23rd June, 1916   Dear Sir,   With reference to your letters of the 14th and <lb/>22nd instant, I beg to inform you that from enquiries which <lb/>I have made, I find that Daniel McCarthy was arrested under <lb/>martial law at Dunmanway on the 13th <sic>ultimo</sic>. He was sent <lb/>on to Cork, thence to Dublin and after a few days to <lb/>Knutsford, England, where he has been up to the present.  His family have been in communication with him <lb/>all the time and were never at a loss to know his address. <seg type="closer"> Yours truly,  <hi rend="underline"> (S<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>) S.M.P</hi>   F.
