Letter from Alice Katherine Wynne (1833-1928) to a Mr Oliver regarding the letting of a room. The letter states that, due to a lack of correspondence from Mr Oliver, the 'idea' of letting a room has been abandoned. Alice Katherine Wynne was born to Reverend John George Wynne and Emily Goold. She was married to Albert Augustus Wynne and was the mother of five children, among them Charles Wyndham Wynne. Charles served as a captain in the Royal Garrison Artillery in the First World War. He was killed in action in June 1917.

 Mar 31st 1916 Dear Mr Oliver Yours of 29th recd. this morning 31st in answer to mine of 22nd. I am sorry to say that Mr. Wynne is not yet out of his room, & the doctor says will have to be very careful for some time to come. This makes it im- possible for us to under take to be out of this by May 2nd & various other circumstances have arisen, we have decided us to give up the idea of letting for the present. We are sorry if this decision incon- veniences you - not hearing from you for so long we quite thought the matter ended. I write by return to give you, the earliest notice. Yrs truly Alice K.
