               <p>A letter from George A. Lyons, Honorary Secretary, B. Company, Third Battallion, Irish Volunteers, to the Honorary Secretary of Sinn Féin inquiring about the cost of hiring a room on 29 April for a 'smoker' or a recruitment event. George A. Lyons (d. 1950) fought in the Boland's Mill Garrison during Easter Week. He was imprisoned in Frongoch, Wandsworth and Lincoln. Prior to the rising Lyons had been a founding member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and was an active participant in the War of Independence.</p>
