In this letter Murray expresses his sympathies over injuries sustained by Davidson’s after being shot. Murray further informs Davidson that he had intended to forward a Christmas parcel to the Front for Davidson but he will now direct it to the hospital in England instead.</p>

                 Dec <hi rend="underline">13 <hi rend="superscript">th</hi> 1915. </hi>    DUNDRUM HOUSE  DUNDRUM  CO. DUBLIN.  <lb/>TELEPHONE, <lb/> NO 12 'DUNDRUM'   Dear Davidson     I received your letter on <lb/> Saturday and was very <lb/> sorry to hear you had been <lb/> wounded; all the same it <lb/> might easily have been worse <lb/> and it is a mercy you are <lb/> where you are.   I wrote to my brother the day <lb/> after you were here and I <lb/> have an answer. He said <lb/> he did not know you but <lb/> that he would make it his

              business to find you out <lb/> and it is rather a pity you <lb/> were hit just now because <lb/> the colonel might have been <lb/> able to do something for <lb/> you. However you are <lb/> very fortunate to be in England <lb/> and I hope you will let me <lb/> know when you get to Dundrum.    I had arranged to forward <lb/> a Christmas parcel to the <lb/> Front but your letter stopped <lb/> that, so I posted aforementioned to <lb/> the hospital today. Let me hear <lb/> how you get on. <seg type="closer"> Yours truly   Edward Murray. </seg>
