               <p>This is a letter from Robert Dunlop (b. 1869), a district inspector in the Royal Irish Constabulary, to Robert Brown, assistant manager at the National Marginal Company in Leith, Scotland. Dunlop is writing to inform Brown that he is not in charge of the expenses of civilian witnesses attending assizes. Brown had made several complaints about the failure to pay his expenses for attending a trial for fraud.</p>
