This is a letter from Henry Arthur Wynne to Samuel Alex Wray (b.1875), a solicitor. The letter is a reply of a previous letter sent by Wray regarding Professor Valentine Steinberger (b.1853), a German professor in University College Galway who was arrested following the Easter Rising and deported to Wandsworth prison, for whom Wray is solicitor. The previous letter requested that Wray be allowed consult Steinberger regarding rent payments and also ask about his whereabouts. In reply, Wynne simply states that Steinberger is in the custody of military authorities.Henry Arthur Wynne (1867-1945) was the chief crown solicitor for Ireland following the death of Malchy Kelly (1950-1916).
