               <p>This letter was written by Augusta Caroline Dillon Clonbrock, Lady Clonbrock (1840-1928) to John Thompson Esq. In the letter Lady Clonbrock thanks Thompson and the board of the hospital for allowing the Clonbrock Co-operative Society an increased bonus and recognizing the increasing difficulties faced by the society.Aside from being the wife of Luke Gerald Dillon, 4th Baron Clonbrock, Lady Clonbrock was also a prominent member of the Irish Women's Association, founded to provide aid and assistance to Irish soldiers and prisoners of war. The letter was addressed to John James Thompson (1872-1924), the registrar at the Royal Hospital for Incurables.</p>
