               <p>This letter is from Kate English to her son Patrick. In the letter Kate discusses the fact that Patrick has yet to arrive home, stating that the men he was in prison with, including Michael Cosgrave, have returned home and that she expects Patrick home by next Saturday. The letter states that Patrick's sisters Katie and Nellie send their love. She also writes that Annie Fenlon received a letter from Joe Mahony who is safe.This letter was written by Kate (b. 1855) to Patrick English (1894-1970) while he was interned. Patrick had been stationed in the G.P.O for the Rising. Following the surrender he was sent to Stafford Prison before being moved to Frongoch internment camp in Wales.</p>

              Cosgrave up to see me he <lb/> told me all particulars <lb/> also Paddy Mooney &amp; Duffey <lb/> they all look the finest <lb/> they told me you would <lb/> Surely be here by Saturday <lb/> next and I will die with <lb/> grief if you are not here <lb/> by then I will be expecting <lb/> you to surely come <lb/> I am glad that place <lb/> is not like where where you <lb/> left It will do you
